Description: All Clad 4 qt Pot When i found this it had a lot of dust on it. The zip tie holding the lid on was so old fashioned I had never seen one like that. The last picture is the pot just wiped down to remove dust. It's before I polished it. I decided to shine it/take off the patina after I looked here on ebay and saw other examples that were shiny First I used vinegar and salt like in youtube vids, that was going much more slowly than in the vidsI used a worn out grey scotch brite pad, probably equivalent to 1000-1200 grit. That when much faster but left scratches. I then used 2000 grit wet dry sandpaper still scratches but finer. Then used a white melamine sponge, equivalent to 5000 grit(according to the internet) Then I used a fine 3m rubbing compound on the lid and the sides, not the bottom. So it looks great but it's far from perfect. I had pull myself away to not get obsessed with the polishing. There are places were the scratches were not totally cleaned up and blemishes were it was sitting on the sink while I polished. If you want to try to achieve a more total mirror finish yourself it's already quite far along. The lid is dented in on one side of the handle, like something heavy fell on it at some point. I tried to show it in 4 pictures of the lid but it does not show on camera very much if at all.
