All colors vintage Westmoreland George Washington mini glass cup plates, 1732-99

Description: I don't know how my late sister Betsy managed to find so many of these fun little Westmoreland cup dishes commemmorating George Washington's time on earth, namely 1732-1799. She was a HUGE Washington fan, as you can tell by all the Mount Vernon/George and Martha items I have for sale up on eBay. She left no stone unturned in her search. She was in an ideal location, though. Westmoreland Glass Company was in Grapeville, PA, just a stone's throw east of Pittsburgh, where we grew up and she stayed. The company started out making mustard jars and candy containers, carnival glass, and tinware. In the 1920s and '30s, Westmoreland began crafting high-quality hand-decorated, museum-quality glass (some of which, indeed, is exhibited at Pittsburgh's Carnegie Museum). It became hugely famous for milk glass in the 1940s-60s. Westmoreland Glass Company sold out in 1980 to a St. Louis businessman and went out of business altogether in 1984. She collected lots of Westmoreland Glass. I have the large version of these Washington plates up, as well as lots of milk glass, and I'll have more. These are are fun as coin and keyholders to, yup, glass and cupholders. I have a mug on one right now (that I'm not selling). Also fun to see them in all the colors (warning: I only have one of the yellow/green). The ruby red with the yellow border actually is a level thicker than the others, which is why it didn't photograph as well. Buy more and you'll save more on each, including combined shipping.
