These simple designs contain a wavy background design (version I with peaks pointing up (Spitzen nach oben) and version II with peaks pointing down (Spitzen nach unten), with the value in the centre and French text. This is a very nice example of the mid red-brown to red-brown 2 Centime value, variant I a with the upward pointing peaks. In used condition with clean circular Metz cancellation dated 30th June 1871. Not expertised. This variation is catalogued in the Michel specialist volume at EUR 170,-. Very good colour and excellent perfs for this hard to find piece. This item will be sent by signed/tracked delivery on a stock card, in a card-backed envelope.
