In this extravagantly romantic print, the artist pays homage to the beautiful women of Teruel, a town in east central Spain. Splashing reds, yellows and hot pinks predominate colors over laid with lacy patterns, Spanish tile motifs, and delicately swirling black designs. In contrast is a small area of EMBOSSING on terra-cotta red. This large image, with its bold, flowing forms, receives appropriately handsome framing. Lithograph with EMBOSSING pulled at Arts-Litho, Paris, 1973. Artwork (print) was purchased from the Estate in Dallas, Texas. The Lithograph was recently Framed in black Metal frame, with mat under Plexi-glass at Southwest Art Gallery in Dallas, Texas which carry lots of ALVAR’S Artworks. About The Artist Alvar Suñol (Spanish, 1935) Àlvar Suñol Munoz-Ramos, also known as ALVAR, is a Spanish painter, sculptor and lithographer. He is one of the few remaining living Modernist artists. ALVAR was born in Barcelona, Spain in 1935. Alvar paints with a subtle, sophisticated tenderness and feeling for his subject matter. Alvar studied at the School of Fine Arts of Barcelona from 1951 to 1957. The eclectic Alvar is a master of all mediums, but each of Alvar's flawlessly executed works is characterized by a sensitivity to color and a delicacy of form that are unique in contemporary art.
