Description: AMAZING STORIES QUARTERLY Summer 1942. Edited by RAY PALMER. The quarterlies of this period are not original issues, as they were in the '20s and '30s, but unsold copies stripped of their covers and reissued, three issues bound together. They would certainly have given the buyer the greatest quantity for his quarter in those days. These quarterlies are the size of phone books. This one contains the pages of the November and December 1941 and January 1942 issues. You can see the complete contents in the 3rd scan. Some interesting stuff here. An early ALFRED BESTER story. A novel by HARRY BATES, author of "Farewell to the Master." A novelet by ROBERT LESLIE BELLEM who is known and perhaps beloved by pulp fans for his over-the-top hardboiled detective fiction; the creator of Dan Turner Hollywood Detective. This is one of his few ventures into science fiction. Also, a lot of the usual Palmer writers. RAY CUMMINGS and FESTUS PRAGNELL were old-timers, toward the ends of their careers at this point. Always happy to combine postage on multiple orders. Please note that the foreign postage prices are a guess. If they prove too high, I will refund the difference.
