Description: Offered here is "American Anthem" with photography by J.C. Suares and text by E.L. Doctorow, published by Stewart, Tabori and Chang in 1982. This copy is inscribed and signed on the half title page by the photographer, J.C. Suares. This oversized (12 in x 10 in) hardcover book is in Very Good Minus condition. The boards are covered with red, white and blue cloth, with gilt titles to the cover and silver titles to the spine. The covers have edge wear along the corners, spine and back board. There is shelf wear, including: some stains to the boards (ranging from 1/4 in to 1 in), though more so on the back cover; a large white scratch running vertically along the middle of the front cover; and a bump (>1/4) near the front top corner on the front board. The book block shows some scratches and pin point indentations along the bottom only. The pages are all clean and unmarked, though slightly age tanned around the page edges. The photographers' index at the back of the book is made of uncoated paper stock, and shows age tanning. The binding is tight.
