Description: This relic was found with a very large, prolific collection of military and historical items. Although I am no expert, given the nature of these items I am inclined to believe that this was likely collected some time during the mid-century, probably during WW2, and brought back by a soldier like some of the other items in this collection. It is solid stone, dark gray almost black in color, and is similar to other carvings that are identified as from the Gandhara region. There is evidence of more recent damage, mostly on the back but also under the chin. It is crudely mounted with a screw on a homemade base. Again, I am not an expert on this so any insight that you might be able to provide would be appreciated. Total measurements 9 1/4 high by 4 1/2 by 6 1/2 J06032022 Weight 13 pounds 4 ounces
