Description: Anne Worsham Richardson (1919-2012) Limited Edition, Signed and Numbered (92/2000), art print featuring a pair of mallard ducks in flight. That is a fairly low number of the edition, which is always a good thing. Anne (known as the "Charleston Bird Lady") was born in South Carolina and was a self-taught artist. She accomplished so much in her lifetime, you would have to write a book to name them all, so here are just a few highlights. She is the official painter of the SC state bird (Carolina Wren), state flower (yellow jessamine), and state butterfly (Tiger Swallow-tail). She eventually settled on birds as the main subject of her works. She established a wildlife sanctuary with her husband and used it to study and paint birds and other wildlife, as well as rehabilitate them. She was also the first female painter to be selected by the National Wildlife Federation to receive the "Art Print of the Year" award. This large print is double matted (light beige outer and dark green inner matting). Framed in a mahogany finish solid wood frame. The frame does have some minor wear to it (scuffs/scratches), but not really noticeable unless closely inspecting. The backside is in Framed size is 35-1/2"W x 26-5/8"H x 1-1/2"Deep. The viewing area of the actual print measures 25-3/4"W x 17"H. Unfortunately, I don't know the age of the print and I don't see a date on it. I know it has some age though. Purchased at an estate sale with various vintage Limited Edition prints. This very lovely wildlife print weighs over 11 lb before packaging and is large. It is considered Oversize for shipping purposes, so don't shoot the Messenger. It will be well-packaged and insured for the amount of sale. Choice of S&H.
