Description: Scarce early original vintage 1/6 plate daguerrotype of a mother with her daughter. Mom is wearing a beautiful flowered head piece and gently holds the daughter’s hand. Image comes in an unusual metal hinged snap shut full case complete with ornate matte, preserver, and purple velvet cover pad. Image has original seals. Photograph measures 2 1/2 x 3 1/4 inches and is in good condition with a small dent at top of plate (see scans) The image is very sharp and has strong tones with good contrast and clarity.
