Description: From what I have been able to determkne, this is an antique apothecary medicine bottle cork press. It would have been used by a pharmacist or chemist. Most I've seen date back to the mid to late 1800's and I believe this is from right around the same time. What makes this particular press unique is the hand crank that, when turned, would push the cork through. It is marked "THE MAGIC" as well as "MAGIC PRODUCTS CO WARSAW IND" (Warsaw, Indiana?) and "PATS PEND". I haven't been able to find information on this company or any other products made by them.
