Description: As you can see by the photos, the base of this lamp has no chips or cracks even though it has been used. It is clean and only needs a new wick which can easily be purchased today. Not sure if the chimney is not original but if not, definitely demonstrates the time period well. The bottom has the date right on it - September 20, 1870. Used during many power outages here in Vermont! Very decorative as well. The base has a great design to it and is well balanced. Great antique. From a nonsmoking environment.
