Description: Circa 1880-90 Farahan Rug, 4' X 6’2, Great Rust, Pistachio Green, Sky blue. Lovely antique from the Farahan Region of Perssia, source from A Kennebunkport ME estate. Possessing a evenly worn pile with beautifully natural dyes color scheme including, mauve and gold highlights. The natural Copper salts used for the greens have worn faster, and indicate its antique age and have been supplemented in older reweaving. This rug is typical of the older Farahan’s and has been well cared for with multiple repairs and secured ends and edges, all very well done. Showpiece rug for low traffic areas, under a glass table, etc. Supple and shiny wool construction still folds like blanket. Professionally washed Aug 2022 and ready to lay down in prominent place on your home.
