Description: Steeped in history, this wonderful buckle ring from Birmingham was crafted in 1886 from sterling silver. Buckle jewelry was wildly popular in the Victorian era, symbolizing a sentimental bond of love and devotion between giver and receiver. A truly charming collectible antique ring to give to a loved one! The ring is in very good antique condition with minimal signs of wear. The surface of the silver has fine lines and marks, mainly on the interior shank. The silver has a moderate to dark layer of patina which adds definition to the details. The shank is stamped I.W. (maker’s mark), lion passant (sterling silver), anchor (Birmingham), and the letter M (date mark for 1886). The ring is a size 9.5.
