Description: This is a late 19th century to early 20th century, stunning hand-painted dresser or serving tray (dish) featuring the Limoges France Coiffe Mark #3 - Made in Limoges, France...The "handles" on each end are in a fan design for a better grip, and the entire perimeter is decorated with gold trim edging. There is a hand-painted center design featuring clusters of pansies in shades of purples surrounded by green leaves. The underside is unglazed with a bisque texture with the mark in black.The tray‘s approximate measurements are: 12 3/4 inches by 9 inches....Single stamped in back - Limoges/France (with star) marking is a Mark 3 for Coiffe Limoges France - used only from 1891-1914 (Star mark without the words "Limoges" and "France" above and below was used prior to 1890. Mark with "Made in France" above star used 1914 to 1920’s). The Coiffe company made many porcelain blanks decorated by other companies so many times another mark accompanies this particular mark. But in this case there is no other mark so it is probably done by Coiffe themselves..Although light signs of previous use should be expected consistent with age, there are no signs of such here. It is free of cracks, chips, crazing or surface markings to the hand-painted design. This has been in my family since it was new, and has never been used other than being put on display.I ship free within the USA on the same day as receiving payment, using recycled packaging materials whenever possible.
