It has been gently hand polished and ultrasonic cleaned in a mild dish soap, and it has nice shine, is very clean, and is table ready. It is straight, not bent out of shape, has no personal monograms or engravings, with no major issues at all. It is hallmarked on the top edge with the UK standard crown pictomark for the assay office in Sheffield, the lower case letter G date code for 1899, and the lion for Sterling Silver. It is maker signed JDWD in a shield, mark for listed British Silversmith firm, James Deakin & Sons of Sheffield.
