Description: James Anderson from the town of Anstruther, 25 miles from St, Andrews, is often referred to as the "original" cleek and iron maker.James began his business in1865 as a blacksmith and died in 1895. The original cleek mark was a 1/2 inch circle which contained the name " ANDERSON...ANSTRUTHER. This smooth face club is in mint condition in all respects and refinished. VERY RARE. See photos. It was sold by the ARMY and Navy cooperative store which is stamped on the head of the club.
