Description: Dating from around 1910 this wide slightly stiff ribbon was used in the millinery trade to decorate Edwardian hats when extra height or volume was required, made into bows or pleats or draped as a band. Measuring 4 1/2" wide this is a lovely shade of violet. It tests as organic in a burn test and is a combo of starched silk and hemp? to give it body. It is in unused as new condition.
