Description: This is a 1911 New York University Violet yearbook. It is 113 years old and in fair/good condition. Structurally it is in good condition, but the front cover is water-stained and soiled. There are a few pages of advertising at the front of the book. There is a Table of Contents on page 9. There are group photos of the classes of 1919, 1911, 1912, and 1913 as well as lists of names of members of those classes. There are 42 pages of individual photos of seniors. A list of members of the honorary society Phi Beta Kappa is given on page 163. One of the notables pictured in the yearbook is Sherborne Vernon Damerel. His photo appears on page 41 of the yearbook. Sherborne was a member of the class of 1910, but passed away prematurely. The yearbook states that the yearbook editors tried to follow his footsteps in producing the book. His parents funded a Sherborne Vernon Damerel Memorial Award at NYU following his death, and it is still awarded to this day. It is hardcover, first edition. Front cover shows "New York University 1911' and there is an image of a violet on the top left corner of the cover. As mentioned, there is water-staining to the cover and the cover is soiled. There are some tears and losses to the fabric cover,especially at corners and edges. There are no binding issues, no missing or loose pages. The book has 272 pages plus advertisements.
