Description: Here's a real antique for you -- over 100 years old! Thomas Hardy's "The Return of the Native", published in 1917. It evidently was required reading in the City of New York schools, as this was stamped as the property of the City of New York Board of Education. It measures about 6 3/4 by 4 1/2", and has 412 numbered pages. As you can see in the pics, it's in rough shape, with binding trouble, much wear, torn pages, etc., but it did belong "to Esther the great, the girl who knows everything"! The inscription inside the front cover is in pencil, and I see no other writing in the book. It is hardcover, and had black or maybe green cloth binding. Imprints remain on the cover and spine, but any gilt is long gone. Hopefully it can be restored. You must see the pics to know what you're getting -- all the imperfections have been photographed. Thanks for looking!
