ANTIQUE 1920's ArtDeco TIFFIN GLASS Black Satin Amethyst RARE CHRYSANTHEMUM VASE

Description: Antique 1920’s Tiffin Black Satin/Amethyst Art Deco Glass Vase in a Chrysanthemum Raised Relief which appears to be a more rare version of this type of vase from Tiffin Glass. • This antique Tiffin Chrysanthemum Vase in matte Black Amethyst Glass was produced by The Tiffin Glass Company from 1923 - 1926. • The Tiffin Glass Company was originally established around 1893 in Tiffin, Ohio. •This antique round vase is made of black satin amethyst Depression Glass and features a beautiful chrysanthemum pattern in raised relief. The striking amethyst color reveals itself when the vase is held up in certain lights. Or simply light up a tea light in the bottom of the vase. See photos. • These photos were taken in various types of natural and artificial light conditions in order to highlight the raised relief pattern on the vase. • The Art Nouveau style of this vase is evident in the intricate details of the chrysanthemum pattern. It is a medium-sized vase measuring approximately 5 1/2” X 6 1/2”. • The Tiffin Glass Company produced both a Chrysanthemum raised relief version of this vase as well as a Poppy design. The Chrysanthemum design seems to be the more rare version of the two designs. • There is some kind of mark on the bottom of the vase but it is not known if this is a signature mark or something else. (See photo #6.) Condition Issues:• There are a few nicks in this antique glass vase from the 1920s. There is a nick at the bottom of the vase. (See photos #7 & #8.)There are also some nicks on the top rim of this glass vase. (See photos #9, #10 & #11.)
