Description: LIVING ESTATE SALE (Details at the end of description) MA/AI For your consideration is a Weeden 14 made in the USA in the 1920s.From the Weeden site :The Number 14, manufactured from the late 1800's up to 1940, was Weeden's most popular engine. It has a six legged table style cast iron frame, a design shared with two other similar electrically heated models, the No.647 and No.648. The No.14's distinctive boiler is heated with a rectangular shaped three wick burner. The engine may be reversed simply by stopping it and flipping the flywheel in the other direction. I wish this little engine could tell us its story. Personally, I'd be curious to know why there is a screw in one of the legs.This is a very nice restoration project of medium difficulty.As the boiler leaked too much at the water level sight, I tested it with air from the steam line and zoooom... it ran (video). Of course, it currently could not work on steam : too many leaks and a few missing parts.It is mostly complete, except for the burner tray.As the (decorative) governor assembly was missing, I have enclosed a casting kit to replace it. It is not necessary for the operation.While you need to go all around, some work is needed on the whistle that has only the base, missing the handle and the dome. So, as mentioned, I believe that this is a medium difficulty project, with some challenges, but nothing too difficult. Make it beautiful again and good luck !
