Description: Add this Unique Doll to your collection! Featuring an original 1930's Bobbie-Mae Swing and Sway, a paper Machedoll She is Bobbie-Mae and she was called a swing and sway doll made by Wondercraft in 1940. Info is in the book, Modern Collector's Dolls, by Patricia Smith page 271, eighth edition, 1996. The book says that she was inspired by Sammy Kaye and his Swing and Sway orchestra. The only marks are in the mold, on the inside of her dress, and it says, "04", and "PAT PEND." Very interesting in that she has 2 separate joints, and bobs, or nods at her neck, and at her shoulders. So her head goes one way, while her dress goes the other way. Her legs are heavy composition material, almost feel like wood, and with her wide feet, she stands straight and solid while she bobs. Created by Karoff., Manufactured by Wondercraft, Inc., New York., A Weiss Pulp Product. Inspired by band leader Sammy Kaye from 1930's Swing and Sway with Sammy Kaye.
