Description: This is a truly gorgeous, Victorian,Eastlake, Aesthetic Movement, deep picture frame - ca 1870's - 1890's. Frame is beautifully faux painted with incised lines and carved designs in the center and corners of the frame. Frame is in 3 sections with a gilt liner between the faux painted sections. Side are ebonized. Nice photo with dogs. The photo was framed by Michael's and it appears a molding was added to inside edge of frame to make the picture fit. It looks as though it can be easily removed but I have not taken the back off and removed the picture to check. Frame has glass and backing. There are a few areas of chipping (shown). Some wear to gilt - appropriate for age. Corners are tight. Aside from mentioned, overall condition is excellent. Measures:17 in 15 in.9 in x 11 in area for picture - measures from the back. Back is sealed so that is outside measurements.8 1/2 in x 10 1/2 in for picture - measured from the front and including the extra molding. 3 in out from wall. All pieces are sold in vintage condition. I do my best to accurately describe condition. Please look over pictures carefully and ask questions. All sales are final. Seller does not pay any shipping costs.
