Description: Antique 19th C. India Miniature Painting on Mica of Farmers at a Time of Harvest For sale is a very interesting antique gouache painting on mica that dates to the 19th century (first half I believe). I am not an expert when it comes to Indian art, but I did find a similar one at the Royal Albert Memorial Museum in the UK, which said it was from the Thanjavur region. The mica has a couple small natural lines/cracks which are hard to see (to be expected), and there's just one tiny area of loss to the paint in one of the figures turban. I couldn't find many others with this much gold leaf as the background, which really catches the light. This small painting measures 6" inches long by 4" inches tall, and the frame measures 13-7/8" inches long by 12-3/8" inches wide.
