Description: Lions We are selling this well modeled and carved pair of Italian Marble lions after the original models by Antonio Canova. These lions are very well carved and in my opinion appear to be from the first half of the 19th century, but could be 2nd half. They are of course after the famous models by Antonio Canova done in 1792 for the tomb of Pope Clement XIII. Condition: Some age wear and discoloration to the marble. Some small damages, many small chips at the marble base. Missing a large chunk of tail on one of the lions.
