Description: This is a wonderful antique marble column, richly veined and beautifully carved. It measures 38" tall x 9" across at the base and 5 1/4" across at the top, weighing a hefty 42 pounds. The marble is carved with a spiral around the main sections, a band of leaf like designs around the center band, and rich curves at the top and bottom. It has an octagonal base and a circular top. A metal rod runs down through the center holding the marble pieces in place.This is in wonderful condition, polished and glowing, showing off the layers of color and the slight translucency of the stone. There a few very tiny nicks on the base that are almost unnoticeable, but I wanted to mention them. This would be great as a pedestal for sculpture or as stunning plant stand. It will be shipped with great care. Please look at all the photos carefully--they are part of my description.
