I bought them because they were pretty to look at and have never actually read them. I’ve had them for at least 40 years. These are all in nice condition but some have signs of wear. All of them have nice crisp pages and are still lovely to look at and hold. Whoever ends up with these is sure to be happy with them.The first one I picked up was Zoe. It has a name on the inside, first end page, and a name on the opposite page. The date written in is 1900. I paid a dollar for this book back in the early 1980s. It has something like ink on the front cover. A Henry Altemus book.Poems, Volume II, by John Greenleaf Whittier is a lovely little book with flowers on the front. Beautiful inside and out. A Henry Altemus book.Lucille has the prettiest cover and is also beautiful inside and out with some minor shelf wear. Another Altemus book.Finally, Water Babies, from 1895, has my favorite cover but there is wear on the corners and edges. It also has stunning illustrations inside. Just gorgeous. Thomas Y.
