Description: The product is a set of antique bookends made by Bradley & Hubbard Mfg. Co. in Connecticut. The bookends are made of antique cast iron They feature a Pilgrim design and were made in the United States in around 1925. One bookend features a pilgrim woman and has "Priscilla" on the base, the other features a pilgrim man and has "John Alden" on the base. Both pilgrims are standing in the grass underneath a tree, there are also fmushrooms growing in the grass. Each bookend measures 5 7/8" tall x 3 3/4" wide, the base is 2 3/4" x 3 3/4”. John Alden is often referred to as the first person from the Mayflower to step onto Plymouth Rock, he was one of the first settlers of Plymouth Colony. Priscilla Mullins was also on the Mayflower, she and John Alden married after arriving in Plymouth Colony, they were the third couple to wed there.
