Description: This antique brass betel nut container box is so interesting. Crafted in the late 1800's. The hinged lid, with latch and hinge for a lock, heavy construction weighing 2lbs and 3.9 oz. About 5.5" tall , 4.25" wide , 2.75". The very ornate details, are an array of different types of wire work. The box is made of brass and has a great patina. It is perfect for storing betel nuts or any other small items.The hinge pins are loose and makes it hard to open. I believe the white on the bottom and inside is from Betel nut or lime powder.
