Description: Antique Brass Carriage Clock With Fretwork Panel By DH. This lovely antique carriage clock has a brass case with a lovely shaped handle to the top. The top of the case then had a lovely shaped final to each corner followed by a back of fretwork panels to the top. Each corner then has a brass reeded column leading to the base. The base then has similar fretwork panels to the top edges except the one to the back is not present. Finally the case is finished by four brass feet as well as a beveled glass panel to the front, back, top and sides so the movement can be fully viewed. The dial is then enamel and set out in black Roman numerals with a thin ring of dashes to the outside marking the minutes. The dial then has two lovely, shaped hands. The movement is then both wound and adjusted from the back and comes complete with its winding key. The clock ticks away as it should via the balance wheel to the top of the movement. The movement is also stamped “DH” to the backplate. It measures approximately: 5 3/4” / 14.5cm Tall with handle up x 3” / 7.5cm Wide x 2 3/4” / 7cm Deep. REF: carriage clock a27
