Description: Antique Brass Torsion Balance Weight Set Mentz & Fleischer Prewar Berlin Germany Very old, certainly pre World War II, possibly 1800's? Made by "E.Mentz vorm. H.Fleischer Berlin". Last calibrated in 1957. Great condition for its age. Box is solid. All the larger weights are here plus an extra 5g. All smaller weights are not here, lost a lifetime ago, I'm sure. Original brass tweezers are good. All brass is naturally showing some corrosion. Comes with typewritten table of calibration results from 1957. Glass also in great shape for its age. From the estate of a 93 year old veteran friend who lost his wife, who was a serious research scientist in mid-century human biology and metabolism. You can look up her papers under Joanne Spaide.
