Description: Lot of 2 Doulton Burslem Antique Cabinet Plates, Iris Florals & Gold, C1522, ENGLAND,1882-1901 Mark2 beautiful antique floral, hand painted cabinet plates from Doulton Burslem, Burslem, EnglandThe plate stands are not included in this auction.Each bright white body has a scalloped petal rim and and indented verge panels with raised borders.The rims are a solid gold-gilt with intermittent gold-gilt shadingEach has the 1882-91 mark on the bottom with the 4 D's in the center and text that reads, "Doulton Burslem."The plate at left in the photos also has a pink mark "C1522 AH." The plate at right has a blue mark "AH. C.1522.Glossy and smooth top and bottom; tactile recessed verge treatmentDate of manufacture is probably 1890s as their mark dates from 1882 to 1901, per online research.Both plates together weigh 1 pound, 8 ounces before packagingVery good antique condition with no major chips, cracks or crazing. Each has some minor surface and gold wear and some shelf wear to the foot rim. The plate at left in the photos has a flea bite sized chip on the top rim point (at 12:00) and a small nick in the foot rim that is more felt than seen. Any other irregularities, glaze misses, flea bites, etc. would be from the manufacturing process.Condition: See specifics above.
