Sign Up Antique Chinese Brass Asian Turtle dragon Figural Desktop Stamp Box Holder Footed Product description ANTIQUE CHINESE BRASS ASIAN Turtle DRAGON FIGURAL DESKTOP STAMP BOX HOLDER FOOTED Antique late 19th/early 20th century Chinese Brass dragon figural desktop stamp box. Bright gold color. Super detailed turtle dragon shows lots of intricate crevices along the back, shell, tail, face, and feet. Oval-shaped, hinged backplate "shell" swings open to reveal two square spaces for stamps, trinkets, etc. The brass piece rests on four slightly rounded feet. A good sized, thin neck rises from one end of the solid base to form a double horned, open-mouthed face. Pretty neat design almost has the body of a turtle, with a dragon face and tail. Directly opposite the face, a wide, carved tail curls upwards. The underside has a brushed brass finish and is completely unmarked. Measures 5" Long x 2 3/4" Wide x 2 3/8" High. Very good condition despite some plate wear to the brass exterior finish. No nicks or dents. Backplate has light surface scratching, nothing deep, swings open easily, sits well when closed, but is a tiny bit loose in the hinge. Underside of backplate shows more plate wear than the exterior. Shape of the interior housing compartments is not compromised, no dents or issues. The entire piece rests nicely, but not totally flat on all four feet, it can rock a bit. Some of the figures detailing has some white residue in the crevicing, on the tail, the back, feet, and the head. Brushed underside shows some dark marking natural to the piece. Heavy (~1lb), high quality worksmanship on this piece. Rare find. QUESTIONS?
