Description: This beautifully detailed, antique Chinese, ceremonial Buddhism, wood Ruyi Sceptre was hand carved from one piece of root wood. It is carved in a “S” shape and depicts a climbing vine with distinct (spread wings) bat in the center. The bat symbolizes good luck and happiness. At either end of the specter are lotus flowers, which symbolize the sun and rebirth. Its amazing amount of detail shows fine quality workmanship. In wonderful condition, it is 15 inches long x 3 5/8 inches wide. It was brought back to the US a number of years ago and has been in the family since.
