Description: Antique Chinese Round Tea Caddy Box Repousse Brass Enameled Relief with a Red Glass Marbled knob on lid. Research shows this tea caddy box dish is possibly from the early 1900s-1941 era and is a beautiful example of the Chinese artistry, craftsmanship and beauty. Please do your research to your satisfaction as we are not experts in the Asian antiquities. The colors are still vibrant, the stones on the lid are still tightly mounted. There is a red glass marbled knob on top of the lid. The knob is mounted on a screw and the screw seems bent slightly. The glass knob turns freely on the screw shaft. The red glass knob has bubbles in the glass. However, the knob has been pushed down and has bent part of the cloisonné dome under the knob and so the knob is leaning and freely turns on the screw shaft. (See close-up pics for a better viewing.) The inside of the bowl is enameled which has crazing due to age. There are a few tiny spots at the rim area on the inside of the bowl that have missing enamel and one small black spot of missing enamel at the bottom inside the bowl. There is one small dent in the upper bowl rim also (see picture of small dent compared to a copper penny) as well as several little nicks in the rim from decades of putting the lid in its place. The scalloped edge brass plate soldered on the bottom of the bowl area has 3 small “half spheres” making this tea caddy or trinket dish a 3-footed base. The base also has some slight gaps where the base and bowl were soldered together. This little beauty is very old and has other minor imperfections, scratches and/or tiny dents that would be consistent with a piece that is 80+ years old. Measurements are approx - 5.5” dia x 4” tall T top of knob.We will have 2 more vintage Chinese brass cloisonné pieces (another tea caddy and a Chinese pot for silk fabric ironing back in the day) from this same Oklahoma estate on Ebay today if you would like to check them out also. - We would be happy to combine the shipping for multiple auctions you win (IF possible due to size & weight) - if you WAIT for a COMBINED INVOICE before you pay.
