Description: This listing is for a beautiful antique glass whale oil lamp base. I believe it is from the mid-19th century. The base is about 4" across (point to point) and the lamp is about 10" tall. I honestly don't know much about these lamps. Please look at the photos carefully! It has a brass collar, which I have not polished. I did wash the glass before taking photos, which is why there is some condensation -- but there are a few bubbles in the actual glass as well. The base is a pointy hexagon shape, and one of the points is unfortunately chipped (see photos). It is not very noticeable, but it is sharp. There is also one vertical hairline crack in the base (see photos). I noticed a few other lines in the glass that seem to be part of the manufacturing process and not actual cracks. Did I mention I am out of my element with this item? Please examine photos carefully! Thanks for looking! *** I have 3-day handling because I'm a relatively new seller and I wanted to give myself time to figure out any shipping issues. Most orders are sent out faster! ***
