Antique Custom Silent/Practice Cello By Tasius Eldridge With Soft Case

Description: This is a custom silent/practice cellos made for Tasius Eldridge (1878-1976) of Bucks County Pennsylvania. It was estimated to have been made in the 1920’s, case probably later. The soft case is made by Shut-tite. It is a similar design to a silent cello currently in the collection of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston. It was probably designed based off of the cello in the MFA Boston. This cello’s maker is unknown. It folds down and fits inside its case. Total size folded down is 36” and around 8 pounds, including case. Very light and portable. This item appears to have gut strings. It does not come with a bow.
