Description: Offered for sale is a lovely antique CAKE STAND or salver, made by Bryce Bros. It has the ARGENT pattern, also called ROPE BAND. This pattern was introduced in ~1884. The cake stand was molded in two parts, and the plate was was joined to the stem with a molten-glass wafer when it was made.The plate measures 9 1/2 inches (24.1cm) in diameter, and stands 5.5 inches (15.2cm) tall to the rim. The foot is 4 1/2 inches (11.4cm) in diameter.
