Description: Wonderful early 1900s original French brass grand foyer/entry hanging light. The light was rewired and works beautifully! The light is all original except the wiring and is made of brass throughout. The original clear glass cylinder shade is in good condition overall, the glass has natural air bubbles and sag swirling within the glass from the natural making process, back in those days the production techniques were not as perfected as now and each piece of glass has its own distinct character flaws from being made by hand. The light has a gorgeous patina throughout provided courtesy of 100 plus years of natural aging to the element. The original paper wood socket covers are in good solid condition and were given a new coat of hand rubbed gold gilding as the covers were just very aged and dingy, they came about beautifully! There is one little slight age crack starting on the top rim of the ceiling cap (pictured) but purely superficial in nature.
