Description: Approximately 17.5 ounce head. This head has what seem to me to be unusually beefy claws which are more curved than most. The finish work is pretty crude (coarse rasp, from the looks of it). As can be seen in the photos, there is a small chip out of the edge of the face. I don't know for certain but family lore is that this hammer belonged to my great grandfather, who died in a motorcycle accident over a hundred years ago so it's probably at least that old. Most likely, the hammer originally belonged to his older brother, who we're pretty sure worked as a carpenter. The hammer had some rust on it when I dug it out of a box of old tools that had been stored in the basement "forever" and the handle was loose. I almost tossed it but, knowing how old it must be, I decided to remove the handle and clean the rust off of it and see if I could find any identifying marks. There do not appear to be any. So, all I can say for sure is that this thing is old, I can't say who made it. I typically ship within one day of payment. If payment is received before 10:00 AM Pacific time, your purchase will usually ship the same day. Choose "economy" USPS Parcel Select or "expedited" USPS Priority Mail at checkout. If you have any questions, please ask. I will do me best to answer as quickly as possible. Thanks.
