Description: This is a beautiful antique two piece silk jacket and skirt set. The origin of the dress is the estate of a prominent Boston area family. The dress has been in the family since it was made c.1900. The fabric is very delicate and there are some tears to the lining of both the skirt and jacket. There is also a matching belt. 3/4 length sleeves with gathers, ruffles and a bow sewn at the back of the cuff. The lace is in excellent condition other than the discoloration. The jacket closes in the back with hook & eye fasteners but I did not want to force it on my mannequin. Hook & eye fasteners on the back of the skirt as well. Ruffle hemmed lining and pintuck pleats throughout the skirt. Interior belt sewn into the jacket. Condition description: The jacket has some discoloration on the front and the skirt has a dirty mark on the right side. The dress most definitely needs a cleaning. Some tears to the ruffle hem of the skirt lining. The exterior of the skirt is in excellent condition. The jacket has a tear near the hem on one side. There is also a spot on the top left quarter panel of the jacket near the neckline. Measurements (lying flat): Jacket- Underarm to underarm 19", Length 16" Skirt- Waist 12", Front length 32", Back length 43"
