Description: Beautiful Antique Fiddle, 4/4 Violin. It is branded HOPF on the back near the button and also on the inside. The violin was made in what is today Germany, sometimes in the mid 1800s. It has been restored sometime in the past and it is in great ready to play condition. I do not see any old repairs anywhere, just minor nicks and scuffs normal for its age. The craftsmanship is excellent throughout, clearly a handmade instrument. The violin has a beautiful one piece maple back and a very tight grained top deck. Tone is excellent.
