Description: VINTAGE or ANTIQUE UNIQUE CIRCUS ELEPHANT WITH WOOD BODY & METAL LEGS I'm unsure if this was designed originally as a child's toy or if it was simply for decoration but I did find it along side a 1920's Rich Toys wood elephant pull-toy I have up for auction currently. I have no provenance to say that it was made by the same manufacturer but I did want to mention it in case someone may recognize that indeed it may have been made in the early days of the Rich Toys manufacturing product line. Anyway, it is a lovely old example of a beautiful folk art piece that needs a good home! I have not tried to clean it and it does show some wear; marks, scratches and missing paint. It appears to have a shellac type coating which has drip marks in a few spots. It measures 8.25" wide, 7.25" tall and the wood part is .25" thick with it's front legs being 1.25" apart.
