Description: Never used, these 4 panels would have been woven in Napoleon III era, likely, to upholster a chair. You have a seat, back, both arm pad sections. Fine wool and silk yarns and the warp and overall condition ranks excellent. Fabulous subjects and would be glorious made up as a pair of figural tops for decorator cushions, throw pillows. You know, down-filled and lush fringe. These are from my own collections of decades, intended to be made up for cushions but it's really time to let them be someone else's project. These would sell at around $2k each, made up into pillows. The colors are vibrant, rich, and unfaded. A lovely French 'celeste' or "Sevres" blue surround. Forest animals, a fox, stag and wolf. Aesop's or hunt/forest themes. Excellent unused condition. Fine wool and silk yarns in excellent condition, yet they're 120-150 years old. No holes, no damage to note at all. No weakness to the warp. These could definitely be used to upholster a chair, and would be, IMHO, even more fabulous as pillows/cushions. I don't buy musty panels - ever. There is no odor at all other than the very faint scent of fine wool. Measurements are noted on the photos. You are buying 4 pieces all together in the set.
