An English company set up in 1897. From its opening, the store mainly attracted the working classes thanks to its policy of low sales prices. Having the scale of a department store, the store offered household linen, fabrics but also women's men's and children's clothing, furniture, household items, crockery, toys, etc - see all photographs. The company was sold after WW1 and changed hands again in 1941 when the Nazis requisitioned it, finally closing for good in 1970. A fascinating glimpse into Edwardian France.
