This textile is an antique French pieced country dress that dates to the early 1900s. ~ This stunning textile is made using a medium weight cotton and linen fabric for the top and a wool and cotton blend fabric for the skirt. Such a gorgeous piece, perfect for design inspiration. Beautiful vintage tones of black, muted purples and ecru. This house dress has great details like the little woven textural details in the top ecru stripes, and the snaps up the back. This could fit petite women or could serve better for girls, but would need some repair to wear. This would make a stunning costume as is!~*~ A true textile treasure, ideal for any collection, great for occasional use or display. ~*~ ( Dress E211 ) MEASUREMENTS : This gorgeous antique house dress measures 18.5 inches wide from one under arm to the other across the chest, 18.5 inches wide laid flat across the waist and 25.75 inches across the bottom laid flat. It is 42.5 inches long and the sleeves are 13.25 inches long. CONDITION : This lovely textile is in as found, not freshly laundered condition. As you can see in the photos, there are holes on the back near each underarm, and the bottom black wool fabric is thin and has large voids and holes in spots where the wool warp is missing. The bottom hem is open. The black dye has bled onto the striped area and there are other pale marks. Condition reflected in the price!
