Description: Own a BEAUTIFULLY executed French Neo-Classical/Victorian clockwork, 8-day wind two train suspension spring solid brass plate unrestored movement inserted into a polished gray marble case with incised gilded decorations along front face; round gilded brass feet; gilded brass horizontal bands separate each the upper-case portion from the clock case base; beautiful & rare trefoil clock hands; all gilded decorations assuming Neo-Classical/Victorian influences. High quality beautiful white enameled 3 5/8” recessed 2 stepped diameter round faceplate contains Roman numerals; accented with RARE black enameled brass hour/minute trefoil clock hands; a small FAST/SLOW adjustment gear centered above numerals; an adjustable weight pendulum; clock face is protected with a substantially decorated hinged gilded brass door frame fitted with a clear beveled glass (minor scratch in the glass) which snaps shut against the gilded bronze clock surround; the backside contains a second hinged brass door frame with beveled glass as a friction fit; rare cast brass key hanger feature is adjacent the rear door; a large nickel bell resonates beautifully within the clock case; clock case sits upon 4 round sphere gilded brass feet; clock case is handsomely designed with gray marble which is accented with a stepped base of the clock case; both movement & bell assemblies are mounted securely to case. I am an antique clock collector wishing to reduce my clock collection. This clock comes from my collection & has been running successfully for several years with no difficulties. It has been tested prior to this offering. Clock set-up to establish the correct “beat” is paramount to the clock’s operation, accomplished through placement & leveling (sometimes with rotating the movement while in the clock case). Additionally, temperature & humidity may affect it over time as well. Do not over wind the clock. Lastly, I cannot not guarantee the clock’s operation once shipped. I do take pride as a seller and buyer of these clocks. All shipments will be wrapped in bubble wrap (key & pendulum wrapped separately) set tightly into box containing Styrofoam peanuts, tapped shut & then placed into second box (as may be necessary) filled with padding for added protection, taped shut on all sides.
