Description: Beautiful pair of 19th century oil/kerosene lamps. Untouched original, never electrified. Signed paris maker- 'Ramier & Cue(?) 5 Rue Bonaparte Paris'. Brass and unique copper, the main oil reservoir is a fired and glazed pottery, most likely terra cotta. Nice even crazing throughout, a few age cracks of the glaze on one lamp. Acid etched shades feature a classical motif of wreathes and torches. One shade has a chip on the inside top, it is visible from the outside, but you cannot feel it on the surface. Not sure if they originally had an inside glass chimney, but if so, they are long gone. One lamp must have some old oil sludge residue in it, and it leaks a little every once in while. Most likely they can be taken apart and cleaned, but that will be for the new owner to decide. They measure about 18" tall with the shades, and about 6" in diameter at the widest points. No free shipping to alaska or hawaii, I only ship wednesday morning. Thank you for looking.
