Description: CONDITION: Repair to small chip with crack to rim of cup. Slight wear to gilded rims. Minor rim chip on foot ring of saucer. This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in Germany by the Ducal Brunswick Porcain Manufactory, Furstenberg between 1753 and 1770. It is marked with an under glaze blue “F”. The saucer has a diameter of 4 3/4 inches and is 1 3/4 inches deep. The cup is 1 5/8 inches tall with a diameter of 2 3/4 inches in diameter. This early hand made porcelain feels amazing to the touch. Both pieces have hand painted scenes of a harbor, buildings and landscape. The painting is highly detailed and the brush strokes extremely fine. There is finely painted fish scale decorative trimand delicate scrolling in purple under each scene. Lacy gold trim accents the rims. This set has a remarkable resemblance to work produced at Meissen around the same period of time. This is a museum quality example of Furstenberg porcelain. #C993 Please do not bid if you do not intend to pay. You will be blocked from further purchases.
