DESCRIPTION: Antique silver bowl. Solid .800 silver (80% pure). Oval / boat-shaped bowl on oval pedestal base. Openwork design with repousse and chased decoration of grapevine swags. Hand crafted. Presumably the bowl originally had a glass liner. Maker's marks: exterior base stamped "800" along with a second unidentified mark; hand marked "Made in Germany" (very small) on the underside. Tastefully monogrammed on one side. Early 20th century I believe. Germany. CONDITION: Generally very good original condition. No damage and no significant wear. No restorations / repairs. No dents, breaks, splits, gouges, scuffs, creases. No significant scratches or rubs. No significant dings or bends. No significant loss of detail. No noticeable leans or asymmetry. No signs of abuse. Rocks very slightly when sitting on a hard flat surface. Old patina as found. Typical scattered age-related oxidation. There is some scattered white paste residue inside the bowl. On close inspection you may detect some light typical handling wear: some scattered very subtle bends or shallow dings in the openwork; scattered fine / superficial scratches and rubs. See photos. Nothing significant or conspicuous.
